What is the next big thing in technology? I’m rather confident I can point you to a few things, but no one can tell the future. I am always thinking about these matters as an investor. There is always more than one thing brewing when it comes to the business world and new technologies, and it is truly difficult to put your thumb on exactly what is happening.
Even when you predict what’s next, as an investor, you still have the job of weeding through companies to pick the clear winner. For instance, I will give you an example. I can see how big online gaming and eSports is getting, and I know which companies are at the helm. I see Amazon buying Twitch, the popular streaming platform, and I know that some gaming companies are likely to boom much higher in the next decade. Something worth checking out is influencer marketing company
I still have to pick which ones, and I’m confident I have picked one of them. I also am confident that I have picked the right. company that makes gaming accessories. Am I right? Only time will tell, but that’s my example of discerning which company is going to facilitate new technological trends moving forward into the future. I couldn’t tell you what trends in this case, and in any case for that matter.
People often spend time guessing the next big thing in technology based on what is already out there. We can’t see the future after all. One good example of this is social media. At one point, I could see Facebook dying out, and I was trying to guess the next social media platform based on what Facebook was like. After all, MySpace was similar to Facebook, right?
I am not trying to paint myself as that naive, but you get the point. Not only was it difficult to try and guess what people were going to latch onto next, but it hasn’t even really happened yet. You see, the social media market fractured, kind of like a big egg that hatched all kinds of new beginnings. So Facebook laid an egg, and it was a big one.
To be clear, Snapchat did emerge as the new social media platform that was chief during that specific timeframe, but it didn’t take over like Facebook once did. Twitter is still around, too, and of course Facebook never did really die out. In fact, it got bigger, and it actually came out with an IPO. The corporation has since grown significantly, even though it has been riding a downward trend in recent months.
Granted, no young people are interested in Facebook, but the point is this is an example of how difficult it is to see what’s next with technology. I know one thing, I have also selected a company as an investor that makes the glass for many devices. I see that as a play on the latest technology coming our way, despite whoever makes the slimline innards to more modern devices. And I’ll leave you with two more words: Semiconductors and Crypto Currencies with technology such as crypto currency wallet review.
Oh and with protection of cryptocurrency technology, CISSP training online provides a good backbone on how to prevent cyber threats.
